The chamber is urging Brown to veto those four that are sitting on his desk, including a bill that would severely limit the ability of employers to use credit checks in hiring decisions, and one that would standardize three days of bereavement leave for employees and allow them to pursue legal claims for violations of the rule. “You reach a tipping point where employers can’t afford to do these things,” said Marc Burgat, vice president for government relations at the chamber.
