Critics Deride Health Charges

Chamber President Allan Zaremberg said he was concerned that the cost of health care is expected to rise at a faster rate than the employer payrolls that are being taxed, meaning the rate of the charge may have to be increased in the future. “One funding mechanism for the increased coverage — the employer tax and mandated employee contribution — is tied to payroll,” Zaremberg said in a written statement, “and payroll growth in California has risen at just half the rate of health care costs in California in recent years.” Read More.
