SF Chronicle: Assembly shelves worker-rights bill requiring 2-week schedule notice

San Francisco Assemblyman David Chiu tabled a bill Thursday that would have required large retailers and restaurants in California to post workers’ schedules at least two weeks in advance. Lacking the votes to pass and with a deadline looming, Chiu said he would instead take up AB357 again in January.
